![]() So the American BBs start shifting from firepower to speed so they can keep up with and support carrier groups. ![]() In this case, as you move into the Colorado class, the american BBs start a shift from 'Big, BIGGER, BIGGEREST!' that the Japanese are focused on and start going: "Bigger is worthless if you can't get to the fight on time". The thing they had in common was failing to understand that mid-way through the American BB tree, the combat philosophy takes a hard left, as the US realizes that carriers are where the power is going to shift to. I browsed the main forum for WoW yesterday before I went to work and saw people griping about how the Colorado class was terrible, and even complained about the Iowa. Each ship in the game is crafted after the characteristics of the real deal. I would be the first to admit that even a few years ago, I would have gone straight into the BB without realizing that I'm picking a beast with a weapons reload time measured in: 'Is my hotdog done cooking yet?'. The other problem group is likely the people who just pick ships without understanding what has which strengths in a fight. They fire harmlessly at a target and don't realize they aren't doing damage, get into a merge, and die. Things like armor thickness and aspect angle elude them. They just rush in and start shooting things, then get clobbered. I would surmise that a lot of players are children who don't fully understand the physics behind the combat of the various warships and just treat this like Unreal Tournament (With BOATS!).
